The Colors of Kids concept is simple-give children a canvas, some paint and a brush and let their creative juices flow. We did just that with a primary school in Kenya. Once the student’s masterpieces were finished, they were sent to the Craftours office where their paintings were registered, framed and ready to go on sale. Each 5’ x 7” original piece of art comes with a certificate of authenticity and sells for $20.00 a painting, plus postage and handling. $10.00 of the proceeds go directly to the school, and the other half pays for the paint, brushes, canvases, frames, mailing costs and other things associated with the project.
The Colors of Kids logo shows colorful painted hands of children, with a heart in the center of their hand. This represents the different cultures, personalities and nationalities of the children who will participate from schools all over the world. And because this project is international, we have placed the world in the center of the logo as a reminder that crafts are universal and have no language barrier.
May the Colors of Kids be a rainbow of success as we highlight the creative passion and artistic expression of school children needing a little help to have what most other school children take for granted.
